5 Ways to Boost Your Immune System

Hey friends.

Let’s have a nice, calm chat about how you can boost your immune system this time of year. No need for panic, but I’ve had a lot of people asking for information, so I decided to put a resource together that I can just share with anyone who asks.

So, tip #1 is ironic:

  1. Reduce stress.

Your immune system is extremely affected by stress. So freaking out about catching coronavirus isn’t going to help. Stay away from triggering news outlets and try to stay focused on what you CAN control, which is how you take care of yourself. Get outside and get some sunshine on your skin, it does WONDERS for your stress level. Here’s an article I wrote on how stress affects your health if you want to know more.

  2. SLEEP!

Y’all already know this is my favorite thing to talk about. I won’t go into much detail now, because I already did that here. Basically, your body is in a state of chronic stress when you don’t sleep enough (see #1).

  3. Eat nutrient-dense foods.

I know this sounds lame, but the micro nutrients in eggs, red meat, fish, and veggies are vital in keeping you healthy! Eat lots of different colors to make sure you’re getting a variety of vitamins and minerals.

  4. Supplements!

Vitamin D3 + K2, Zinc, & Vitamin C are the big ones. Read this article I wrote if you want more info on why. Bone broth is another great addition to your routine!

  5. Adjust your mindset.

If you’re thinking, seriously Lex? I get it. 2020 has been insane so far. There’s so much going on, how on Earth can we have a positive mindset right now? Because your health literally depends on it. There have been many studies done on the mind body connection. You literally alter the biology in your body with the thoughts you have. Focus on the GOOD. Follow #goodnews on Instagram for a change. Think about what you’re grateful for and what you DO have. We are still incredibly blessed. If you look for the good, you’ll FIND more good. Same goes for negativity.

And one bonus tip: check in on your friends & family. Talk with them about how you’re all feeling & support one another. Community from afar can be just as powerful during times like these.

It’s okay to not be okay.

But when we don’t talk about it, we usually end up taking it out on other people. Have you heard about all the Costco crazies? They obviously need to get some things off their chest. Just sayin.

If you don’t have someone to talk to, hit me up at lexie@wellfromwithin.co or @wellfromwithinco on Insta.

Alright. That’s all, folks. Keeping it short & sweet so you can go spend time with your family, relax, and get some sleep.

Stay healthy, friends!
